Understanding the Template Structure

The first row of the template lists all the fields for each entity/record type (Contact, Company, Lead/Deal, Project) linked to a specific section. The format follows this structure:
Deal/Board {{13022001/Board}} – The content inside {{ }} represents system information and should not be modified.

Steps to Fill Out the Template

  1. Board Column (Deal//Board {{*/Board}}) – Specify the pipeline/board name where the data should be imported.

    • If left blank, entities will be created in the first pipeline/board by default.
  2. Stage Column (Deal//Stage {{*/Stage}}) – Specify the stage in the pipeline/board where entities should be imported.

    • If left blank, entities will be created in the first stage by default.
  3. Name Column – Enter the name of the entity/record.

    • If left blank, a system-generated name will be assigned.
  4. Owner Column – Specify the user name that matches the Amwork system name of the person who will be assigned as the entity owner.

    • If left blank, the entity will be assigned to the user performing the import.
  5. Other Columns – These correspond to the fields created within the entity/record.

    • Ensure that cell formats in .xlsx (or Google Sheets) match the data types of the fields in Amwork.
    • If any field types are modified in Amwork, download a new template, as field codes will change, making the old template outdated.
  6. Multi-Value Fields – For fields that accept multiple values, separate each value using ”;” or ”,”

    Importing Related Entities

    If an entity/record has linked entities, their data will also be included in the template, formatted as:
    1//Contact/Email {{13022002/42022002}}

    • The number “1” acts as a key to link records.
    • All entities with the same key will be linked to each other.

    To add multiple linked entities of the same type (e.g., multiple contacts or deals/projects), create new columns in the template and assign them a new key (e.g., “2”, “3”, etc.).

    Example:

    • 2//Client Contact//Name {{13022002/Name}}
    • 2//Contact/Email {{13022002/42022002}}
    • 3//Client Contact//Name {{13022002/Name}}
    • 3//Contact/Email {{13022002/42022002}}

    Following this structure allows you to import multiple related records efficiently.
